What we will not do

The things we will not sell you

What a clinic refuses to do says as much as its service list, and in Atlanta that starts with declining to implant compounded pellets. We do not implant compounded pellets. They are not FDA-approved, no insurer covers them, and once placed they cannot be removed if the dose is wrong.

We do not sell saliva hormone testing or dose to a target number, because neither is validated for guiding this treatment. We do not present hormone therapy as a weight treatment, because the trials do not support that.

And we do not prescribe to everyone who asks. Being told that hormone therapy is not appropriate for you is a legitimate outcome of an assessment, and a service that never says it is not assessing anyone. The detail sits in hormone pellets, hormone panel and hormone testing. No is a real answer here, and a Atlanta patient who receives it has been assessed properly, not turned away for convenience.

Common questions

Atlanta menopause care questions, answered

What an appointment covers, what we prescribe and what we will not.

Your symptoms, your cycle history, your medical and family history, blood pressure, and a decision about whether hormone therapy is appropriate. Where it is, a prescription is issued. Where it is not, you leave with a plan for what else helps.
No. Non-hormonal prescriptions for hot flashes, referral for cognitive behavioral therapy, and advice on bone and heart protection are all part of what we do. Hormone therapy is the most effective option for most women, not the only one.
Usually yes. Bring the details of what you are on, how long you have taken it and how it has suited you. Switching provider does not mean starting from scratch and there is no need to stop anything in the meantime.
Yes, and that is a substantial part of the work. Fezolinetant, cognitive behavioral therapy, clinical hypnosis and low-dose vaginal estrogen where appropriate all remain available after a contraindication rules out systemic therapy.
Usually within a week or two. If your symptoms are severe or you have had unexplained bleeding, say so when you book, because those change the priority.

Patient reviews

Atlanta patients on their hormone therapy

★★★★★

I had been waking three or four times a night for two years and had been told it was just stress. The consultation actually went through my cycle history. Six weeks on a patch and I am sleeping through.

★★★★★

What I wanted was someone who would talk about the risks honestly rather than sell me something. They walked through the clot data and why a patch suited me better than tablets.

Marguerite O.
Sandy Springs
★★★★★

The brain fog was the part nobody warned me about. Having a clinician tell me it was a recognized symptom and not early dementia was worth the appointment on its own.

Denise W.
Roswell
★★★★

It took two dose changes before things settled, which they had told me upfront might happen. The three-month review was booked before I left the first appointment.
